Portfolio > The Saddest Summer Ever

I’m sitting in the big recliner while he’s at his desk playing video games. The window is open even though the air conditioning is on. It smells warm outside, like when it’s almost 90 degrees and it’s about to rain.

It’s weird that one of the hardest summers I’ve ever had also came with some of the most inspiring days I’ve ever experienced. Getting on a plane and traveling to a place unlike the Midwest didn’t change what was happening in our brains. Still being depressed while being amongst the pine trees of the Pacific Northwest felt selfish. We felt like we never left our apartment but we also felt like we never had any time to ourselves. A sprained foot, a shitty job, and marijuana gave us the saddest summer ever.
